Root canal treatment saves a tooth whose nerve is infected or inflamed. Why molars cost more
A front tooth usually has one straight canal. A molar can have three or four narrow, curved canals, and each one must be found, cleaned, shaped and sealed. That takes more time and sometimes two visits, which is why molar root canals are priced higher.
Do you need a crown after a root canal?
Usually yes, for back teeth. Once the nerve is removed, the tooth becomes more brittle and can crack under chewing forces. A crown protects it. Front teeth can sometimes be restored with a filling alone.
